Blissdom - come for the friends stay for the hotel

I came to Blissdom to meet some  (only some. The rest of you I hope to catch up with on my various travels.) of my favorite bloggers.
And, I have.
And, they are fabulous!
More on that later.
Let's talk about this hotel instead.

It is over the top.
There are waterfalls everywhere.
It's like the designer said.
"let's put a waterfall right here. No, let's make it 2 waterfalls. And while we are at it let's make one of them 2 stories tall."
Or maybe She/he said;
"you know those water spouty things? I like those. Let's put 10 over here."
It's unbelievable.
You never leave the building but feel like you've been outside all day.

They have guided tours boats that circles an indoor island.
They have 15 different different restaurants.
A spa.
3 huge gardens
All under a 53 acre roof.
I need to remind myself to shut my mouth because everytime I turn a corner my mouth drops because of some crazy over-the-top thing.

I'm sure the prices are through the moon but I'm going to just close my eyes and hand over my credit card.

More to come tomorrow.
Love,
M

  1. this was a real place. I thought it was a bit like Narnia. Or Vegas.
Do you remember that film Logans Run, just saying. Watch yourself if you see people with a bindi.;)

  2. Looks very cool. A bit jealous--looks so green. There is no green here right now--lots of white though.

  4. That is amazing. When I take over the world I'm going to have my bedroom designed like that.

  5. I am SO jealous! It sounds like something at Disneyland. Is there a Pirates of the Caribbean boatride too? I want stories! Is there excellent Southern food and country music? How's the swag?

  6. Everyone: This place is so like Vegas or Disneyland. The Southern food is good but not like Texas food. Everyone, you'll get stories after the wine wears off.

  7. Pshaw! In 1851, Joseph Paxton built the 200-acre Crystal Palace! It's largest fountain pumped water 250 feet into the air (about ten stories).
