I realize that is a mixed up comment. Obviously the reason it was destroyed wasn't because someone was "thinking"...but maybe more thought could have given to restoring it?

I love old buildings particularly churches, chapels and cathedrals. I was fortunate enough to visit parts of Europe and see some fabulous examples that just took my breath away. So sad when such gems are destroyed. Sadder even when they are allowed to crumble away from neglect.
That is the trouble with American architecture...they tear down the beautiful and replace with gawdy.
