Bread recipe

Need bread for dinner tonight.
Only got an hour.
Try this fabulous Beer Bread.

As I was searching around the internet the other day looking for a bread recipe that I could use up some graham cracker crumbs. I kept coming across this Beer Bread recipe. Since it wasn't what I was looking for I passed it along, over and over again. Then I gave it a try.

These are the remains.
A sad little pile isn't it?
The homeboys can be like locust.

Beer Bread

3 cups Flour
3 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Sugar
1 (12 ounce) can/bottle Beer (any ole beer will do but I suggest going for the good stuff. This always makes JR weep. It's such a tough choice for him. Give up a beer or eat bread. The poor man. How I torture him!)
1/4 cup Butter

Preheat oven to 375*
Whisk together dry ingredients
Add the beer (I had to wrestle the beer out of JR's hands. It is always dangerous to take a beer out of an Irishman's hand)
Pour into greased loaf pan
Pour melted butter over the top
Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes

Eat and eat and eat.

Be sure to get out the good china.
For a common bread deserves the fancy stuff.
These are my favorite Spode dishes.

Love,
M
