Minot, ND - early 1900s

This must have been what it looked like when my mother-in-law was born there.

  3. How neat! I didn't know cars were so common that early in the century.

  4. MAW: I've been there and loved it.

Rachele: This photo was actually made into a postcard.

Jan: If I had to date this photo I'd say 1915 to 1925. I suspect there was a city wide event that brought out all the cars.

  5. I seriously love that! I can practically hear the noise of those old cars. :)

  6. Hmmm, maybe the city wide event was a Fourth of July celebration or something else equally patriotic? Check out the starred and striped banners hanging from all of the street lamps. Love the butte at the end of the street, too - a beautiful high summer day in the northern plains.

  8. Minot was always where we'd go for "cross border" shopping (when it was cheaper and easier). It looks way cooler in that pic.
