RTT - new furniture

It is Tuesday and I've got a couple of random things to say. You can read other random posts over at Stacy's place.  She's got a logo and a link up thing but I'm a spaz today so you'll just have to go over there to get a look at them.

I got a new easel and stool. I now can do larger paintings without the danger of the whole thing taking a dive. My first easel was a little travel easel that was fine for smaller canvases but for the big ones it was a little precarious. This new easel is very sturdy, great for oils and acrylic (which I haven't tried yet but plan to soon). It tilts for pastels though I don't need to use it for that since I have my tilting work table.

The new car preformed like a trooper last week. I drove it to Austin and have to say I was impressed by the fuel mileage. It got 34.7 miles to the gallon. Booyah!  I did somehow lose a hubcap in the process. It either wasn't put on well or someone decided they just needed one cheap hubcap. I'm considering a couple of replacement options. 1. call the dealer to see if they will give me another one or 2. and this is the one we are leaning towards, buying 4 new HAWT ones from Amazon. Maybe something like this or like this.

I've been watching a lot of PBS these days. I know! I must be a socialist. I watched the second year of Downton Abbey and now I need to watch the first. Hopefully, it is on Netflix because I really need to catch up. I've become very invested. It is another Masterpiece Theater production (I can't think of the term "Masterpiece Theater" without thinking of the Cookie Monster in Monsterpiece Theater) just like Sherlock. The second year of Sherlock comes out in May. I'm thrilled and I can thank Gretchen enough for getting me hooked on Sherlock. And, I mean that in a good way. I love Sherlock!

Monday night in Antiques Roadshow night at our house. This Monday it was from Tulsa, Oklahoma. JR mentioned that he had never been to Oklahoma. He then went on to say that it was probably like Arkansas. I said; not so much like Arkansas as it is like Kansas, yet another state he's never been to. I said; think Nebraska but drier. Having been to Nebraska he concluded that he didn't need to visit Oklahoma. For some reason he doesn't need feel the need to visit all the states in the U.S. like I do.

JR and I sometimes make up new state mottoes. For fun, you know. Because we're weird and snarky.
Take Nebraska for instance. The state motto for Nebraska is, "Equality before the law.". We thought is should be changed to, "Best seen at night."
The Oklahoma state motto is, "Labor Conquers All Things". We think it should be changed to, "Pretty in Theory."
Or Texas. The state motto is, "Friendship." We think it should be changed to, "boring."
Or Arizona. The state motto is, "God Enriches." We think it should be changed to, "Mostly hot as hell."
I could go on. Would you like to change your state motto? If so, to what?

That's all from me. I've got to go into the office tomorrow. Someone needs to save digital material for the future.

Love,
M.
