A day at the beach

Sunday dawned sunny and warm which led JR and I to think that it would be a good day to take the dog to the beach.

We got there before the church crowd let out giving us the beach pretty much to ourselves. Nessa at first was a little freaked out by being off-leash but she settled down quickly. Nessa tends to freak out easily.

When we found a stick to throw she stopped freaking out because FETCH!. Nessa has a bit of an obsession with fetch. Balls, sticks, toys, you name it; if it can be thrown it can be fetched. She even got over her fear of the waves.

She played

and she played

until she just couldn't play anymore. Then she sat in the wet sand and let the cool Gulf of Mexico water lap around her.

Love,
M

    1. She was having such a great time. She would dive face first into the sand to get the stick. Almost doing a somersault a couple of times.

  4. Awww, a beach. It's been so long since I've been to a real beach. And it's going to be a lot longer before I get back to one.
Looks like Nessa had a blast and I bet she slept very well after all that FETCH!

  8. Oh man, I haven't been to the good old Gulf of Mexico in ages. The Pacific is very grand and big and blustery, but I always enjoyed the gulf for it's mellowness.
