On Tuesday night I walked down to this Italian place on Peachtree Street.
Baroni's.
It was wonderful!
I, of course, had the wild mushroom risotto.
It was the special.
It was the least I could do.
It was finished with truffle oil and a red wine reduction.
The earthy truffle oil played very well with the sweetness of the reduction.
I like food that plays well with others.
I was happy.
My tummy was happy,
burp.
I want it to be known that I did not lick the bowl.
I wanted to but I thought that it wouldn't look good.
There were people sitting next to me.
So, I refrained.
It was big of me, wasn't it?
What I did do was sop up all the yummy goodness with a couple of pieces of bread.
They were small pieces.
If one has to eat alone, one should eat well.
I think I'll make that my new motto. What do you think?
Love,
The glutenous M
Glutenous? Really? I thought that was reserved for grains. Although, I suppose if you eat enough grains you could be glutenous. I tend to be gluttonous, myself.
ReplyDeleteSounds yummy. I'm food driven myself. Wish I had a good italian place to walk to.
ReplyDeleteYum! Now I'm hungry!
ReplyDeleteMary, you are so right.
ReplyDeleteI really wish there was a decent Italian place near us. We have a mediocre one that just opened a few months ago, but we don't do new in our town--the service in new places is just awful. We let them work all the bugs out, then try the new places.
ReplyDeleteI love Italian food. That looks very yummy!
ReplyDeleteWhen you get the sweet, spicy corn thing figured out...PLEASE post the recipe. Yummm

I've never gotten risotto truly good. Edible, yes. Sublime, no.
ReplyDeleteI blame the lack of true vegetable stock.
I'm on day 3 of Nutrisystem and my stomach is basically eating itself. So I'm all for eating food.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful restaurant!!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like Seth...he does lick plates clean if the food so moves him. Hopefully only at home!! I so hope he never compliments a cook in that manner!!! Tho I do worry!!
