While some of you were at BlogHer or hanging around MOMA I was doing some exciting stuff. Once I tell you what we were up to this weekend you will all be jealous.
Ready to weep?
Ready to gnash your teeth?
Ready to throw in the towel to our greatness?
We bathed our cat.
That's right.
We bathed our cat.
In our sink. The one in the kitchen with the sprayer faucet.
JR held him in the sink while I soaked him with water, lathered him up with the soap that the vet insisted that JR buy (I don't even want to know what that cost.) and rinsed him off.
I can tell you with a great deal of authority that cats really don't like to get bathed. It resembled getting an eight year old boy to bathe. With claws.
And, Oh Joy! We get to do it again this weekend.
Just before we washed the cat JR says to me: I think I'll take a shower.
I said: I think I'll wait until after we wash the cat. That way all my wounds will be clean and it will make dabbing on Neosporin easier.
Sometimes, I can be so efficient.

The Meatless Monday gang made the big time.
Campaign Aims To Make Meatless Mondays Hip
Does this make me hip by association?Yeah, I didn't think so.

Next time I'm shopping on Amazon I'll be buying this:
Or any one of these:
My friend Candy sent me this link. Does she know me or what?
Now, everyone go visit Keely and all the rest of the random peoples.
Love,
M
Gee, I've always thought you were hip...
ReplyDeleteCats need bathing by people??? I thought they were equipped with prickly tongues so as to do it themselves. Well darn!
ReplyDeleteI've never been brave enough to bathe any of our 3 cats!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy RTT
Cat bathing sounds way more adventurous than Blogher. Hope the wounds were few.
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely pick Blogher over a cat bath but I had to go on a cruise & missed it. I'm going to the Type A mom con in September though!
ReplyDeleteWow, bathing your cat. jealous.
ReplyDeleteOoo.. Cat bathing and you didn't post an open invitation for everyone to join in?
ReplyDeleteI canned all weekend, maybe I would rather have been bathing a cat.
Cat bathing--been there and done that--have the scars to prove it. You have some kind of fun next weekend, doing it all over again--if you can find the cat--they know when to hide.
ReplyDeleteI will be making refried beans soon!!!
ReplyDeletePeanut is to arrive beginning of October. Come up here and I will share the joy with you!
It definitely DOES make you hip!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see a Meatless Monday campaign, I think of you!
I once had a cat that got a terrible gash in his side, and the vet made me "flush the wound" with water twice a day. So imagine...I had to put on leather gloves, hold the cat upside down in the sink, and shoot water with that little kitchen sink sprayer thingy into the wound for a minute at a time. The cat loved it.
ReplyDeleteAnd you are totally hip.
You bathed a cat and lived to tell?? Impressive!
ReplyDeleteBeing allergic to cats as I am, I'd really like to bathe a cat.
ReplyDeleteYou know how to live it up on the weekend! Bathing a cat... not even close to being on my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteI'm calling the ASPCA. Cheers Michele!!
ReplyDeleteUhm, did you have to bathe the cat? Was he stinky? I think I've only given my cat one bath in 12 years, and that's when he rolled in his own barf...
ReplyDeleteBathing a cat is WAY braver than travelling to NY by yourself!
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing from the Neosporin comment that your cat still has claws in tact? Youch! I've done it before too and it's painful. Wet cats are harder to manage than slipper wet toddlers.
ReplyDeleteGet this, our stupid cat likes to take a bath. She sits on the side of the tub when G is taking a bubble bath and then slides in at the end sometimes.
ReplyDeleteAnother time, my husbands roomie before we got married heard that bathing a cat in grapefruit juice would get rid of fleas. So, he decided to save money and buy the concentrate. Needless to say, it didn't work and the poor cat looked like Sid Vicious and every time it licked itself, it would look up at us with a total "WTF?" look on it's face. Will never forget that one!
