I love my gas range; but what's with the Hubs? Was gas too dangerous for women in 1910? Was it the equivalent of the BBQ back in the good old days? (Was that the good old days?) So many questions...
I've never lived in a house with gas appliances, they scare me. I'll have to write a post about me blowing out the pilot light at my cousin's since I thought they forgot to turn it off before they went to bed. Glad I'm here to tell it.
Oh, I'm with you. When we built our house, I insisted on a gas stove. There's nothing like it! I mean, have you ever heard someone say, "NOW you're cooking with electricity?" Pfft.
Oh my, I totally missed the I am de cook and dis is de cooker caption at the top! Times have changed! It makes me think of Cleavon Little in Blazing Saddles "Where all de white women?"
When we first saw our current house, I grabbed Beloved and yelled, "The stove is gas!! GAS!!!!! WE MUST BUY THIS HOUSE!!!"
ReplyDeleteSo we did. I hate electric stoves.

ReplyDeleteI only know electric stoves. With John's gas, I think electric is safer.
ReplyDeleteI'd like a dual fuel!
ReplyDeleteGas Stoves Rule!! especially as the ad illustrates if one is a cook who is either black, or some type of American Indian/Asian chef. WTF?
ReplyDeleteWho wouldn't love a stove that has heat on five sides??? Thanks, as always, for sharing your wicked sense of humor.

ReplyDeleteGas scares the hell out of me. That could be because my FIL tried to kill me once by tricking me into lighting a gas flooded furnace.
ReplyDeleteI have an electric store, but it's the fancy modern kind with flat burners. I kinda love it and it's super easy to clean.
